Our Mission

The overarching aim of the organisation is to promote political awareness and literacy among all women. For us, political awareness is not only about increasing the number of women representatives in the Parliament, Legislative Assemblies and Local Governance bodies but also about making women conscious of their rights, decision-making and freedom at the level of family, community, and society.

  1. Political literacy:

  • To make every woman politically literate by educating them about their political rights, and making them aware of the current political scenario at their level.

  • To make them understand the political terms.

  • To help them understand the current political matters and make them opinionated.

  • Design a women-lead space for learning and networking.

  • Design simplified versions of the political jargon.

  • Help them understand political history through various awareness events and simplified ballots in vernacular languages.

  1. Political Participation:

  • By understanding their perspective of the local leaders and parties and encouraging them to actively voice their opinions and participate in every political discussion beginning at a level as mundane and relevant to them as their own family.

  • To address the minimal participation of women in politics and conveying the importance of taking a stand to them.

  • To make every woman be able to exercise their rights and stand up for themselves.

  • Start conversations in languages as close to them as possible.

  • Having informal chats about the formal issues.

  • Make women an integral part of the ‘vote bank’ to ensure the inclusion and foregrounding of their issues in electoral politics.

  • Facilitate women’s participation in policy and law-making activities.

  1. Political self-awareness:

  • Making women actualise the skills they possess to have a political opinion.

  • To develop political self-efficacy among women.

  • Build leadership qualities.

  • Inhibit the habit of engaging in conversations.

  • Develop information-based opinions among women.

  • Help them fight the internalised patriarchy and the social barriers to the freedom of expression.

  • Building a self-awareness amongst women of their concerns and rights.

  1. Knowledge Creation & Dissemination:

  • To include a chapter on the active participation of women in democratic discussions in every curriculum to familiarise students with the issue.

  • Build flexible resources for women to understand the complex politics of our country.

  • Creating a political platform for women to share their concerns and promote collective learning.

  • Documenting the prevailing political scenario in simplest forms possible, meanwhile also encouraging them to discuss and put forth solutions to change it.
